Who We Are
FitzGerald Planning is a certified Colorado Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), Small Business Enterprise (SBE) and Minority/Women Business Enterprise (MWBE).
Christine FitzGerald, Principal and Founder, has 24 years of experience as an Engineer and Planner. She has designed parks, playgrounds, streetscapes and Safe Routes to School programs throughout NYC; she has managed large-scale traffic calming programs, prepared bicycle/pedestrian plans and campus master plans throughout the SF Bay Area. During her 6 years as a planner and land manager for the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, she helped bring 7,000 acres of open space into the National Park Service system, coordinating conservation, restoration and trail planning efforts with the community.
She launched FitzGerald Planning in 2017, and since then has helped National Parks and local municipalities with long-range transportation planning; has provided planning, environmental analysis and project management for county parks; and has helped land trusts transfer open space to public agencies to manage in perpetuity.
“I am a resourceful and creative problem solver. I am passionate about working with communities in public spaces, creating healthy experiences and playful environments.”
Christine holds a BS from Carnegie Mellon University in Civil Engineering and MS from Pratt Institute in City and Regional Planning. She is licensed as a Professional Civil Engineer (PE) in the state of New York (not currently active), and certified by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).
She recently moved to Colorado with her little family. She spends her free time practicing yoga, cooking Ayurvedic meals, hiking, biking, creating art, and trying to keep up with her 8-year-old daughter.
